Aerohauler is proud to share that we have been awarded first place for Best Tech Innovation by popular vote at the Delft University of Technology CleanTech Conference — a prestigious event dedicated to exploring the sustainable technologies shaping our present and future.
The TU Delft CleanTech Conference brings together researchers, startups, investors, and industry leaders to dive deep into the innovations that will define the next generation of sustainable technology. Being recognized among that field of forward-thinking companies makes this award especially meaningful for our team.
At the conference, Aerohauler showcased our vision for fundamentally transforming air cargo — an industry that has historically been one of the most carbon-intensive forms of freight transport. Our approach combines two key innovations: a blended wing body (BWB) airframe and liquid hydrogen (LH2) electric propulsion. Together, these technologies address both the environmental and economic sustainability of air cargo in a way that incremental improvements to conventional aircraft simply cannot match.
The BWB design offers a structurally efficient, low-drag airframe that is inherently better suited to carrying cargo than traditional tube-and-wing configurations. Paired with liquid hydrogen electric propulsion — where hydrogen is converted to electricity through a fuel cell system, producing zero CO₂ emissions — Aerohauler’s aircraft concept targets a step-change reduction in the carbon footprint of long-haul freight.
Winning by popular vote carries particular significance for us. It reflects not just the technical merit of our concept, but genuine enthusiasm from a broad audience of scientists, engineers, and sustainability advocates who share our belief that cleaner air cargo is not only necessary — it is achievable.
This recognition reinforces our conviction that the industry is ready for a different approach, and we are grateful to TU Delft and everyone who voted for us.
